I have tons of toys and clothes that I would like to donate to orphanages in Africa. How do I do this?
I have contacted numerous charities, but none are willing to accept items, only cash. I’ve even tried to find a direct address to an orphanage. I’m willing to pay to ship these things. I just can’t imagine so many children without toys or books while we have so much not even being used. Any ideas or leads would be great!

What kind of toys should I expose my 8wk old to?
I am afraid that I am not playing enough with my son. He is 8 wks old. I am not sure what kind of toys or stimulation I should use with him. He doesn’t really hold a rattle and stuffed animals can cause SIDS. He loves to swing in his swing and look at the mobile that is above it. I read to him every night. I have bought toys for his crib–lights and sounds aquarium that attaches to the inside of the crib and some educational toys. What should I do to keep him stimulated and to aid in developing his brain?

What toys and activities do you use to improve children's gross and fine motor?
I especially want to hear from preschool and kindergarten teachers. My 6 year old first grader is homeschooled and is clumsy at sports (this soccer season is his first exposure to organized sports). He also writes his letters from the bottom up, a habit that makes for messy letters and is VERY difficult to break. I also have a four year old who will be five in November, is in part time nursery school and will be in kindergarten next fall. He spends lots of time playing with tiny cars, crayons, and blocks, also tinker toys, lincoln logs and wooden train tracks are his favourites. Nevertheless, his writing is so big and scrawling that I’m concerned it will be "passable for kindergarten" by next fall! He can write a few letters, his own name, can copy shapes and cut with scissors OK. Any toys or FUN activities I can expose him to to get him ready for kindergarten? I guess I’m a little skittish since his big brother had some serious fine motor and gross motor difficulties.

What store has a good selection for unique toddler toys?
I have been looking all over the internet and it seems that I find the same toys everywhere. Which online store has a good selection of toddler toys. I do not want plastic junk, just some good old fashioned wooden toddler toys.

Good veterinarian for basset hounds in the Inland Empire?
I want to find a better veterinarian for my basset hound. I want to hear from people who have a vet that has treated their basset hound successfully at reasonable cost in southern California, preferably in the Inland Empire.
