What kind of toys should I expose my 8wk old to?
I am afraid that I am not playing enough with my son. He is 8 wks old. I am not sure what kind of toys or stimulation I should use with him. He doesn’t really hold a rattle and stuffed animals can cause SIDS. He loves to swing in his swing and look at the mobile that is above it. I read to him every night. I have bought toys for his crib–lights and sounds aquarium that attaches to the inside of the crib and some educational toys. What should I do to keep him stimulated and to aid in developing his brain?
Buy him black and whit books.. set them up in front of him while he is laying on his belly..
You can hold and dance with him while singing to him…
Just talking to him and giving him eye contact would be great for him too right now..
make sure he is getting tummy time too…
Also try and cut back on the swing and all the toys in the bed.. the mobile is fine, but you want him to know his bed is a place of rest and not be overwhelmed while sleeping..
stuffed animals are okay if you are using them to play with him with.. not for his bed.. like panda bears.. because they are black and white babies love those..
also try starting to find stuff he can hold.. thats light weight and is ribbed so he can chew on them and feel the different textures..
